Claude Giroux ( born January 12, 1988)

 Claude Giroux is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre for the Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL). 

Giroux was named the Flyers' team captain on January 13, 2013, and became the longest tenured captain in team history during the 2020–21 season.

Giroux played his 1000th game with the Philadelphia Flyers on March 17, 2022.

Prior to playing in the NHL, Giroux played his major junior career with the Gatineau Olympiques of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)

where he helped the team win a 2008 President's Cup and earned the Guy Lafleur Trophy as the 2008 playoff MVP.

Internationally, he won a gold medal with Team Canada in the 2008 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.
